Something new for me-they read out the exact descriptions of the items over the PA system: Chicken with mushroom risotto and a vegetarian ravioli with cheese. Didn’t get a look at the ravioli. We did start off with drinks and a packet of little breadsticks.

There were literally only 7 of these in the bag. I wonder how far we can regress before we get a bag of air on board with a scent of the item that was meant to be in there.

After that, the crew came around with the aforementioned menu choices. I chose the chicken, which came with a tomato, lettuce, and fresh mozzarella salad, a cold roll (better quality than my last flight), and French truffles.

This might actually have been the best food I’ve had on an airplane. Everything tasted delicious and had good flavor, and it was also pretty filling. Those truffles were also amazing with a good bittersweet flavor. No complaints here. If I didn’t need sleep I would have requested another portion; it was that good.

The crew were also very proactive at offering the drink cart or bottles of water about every hour, and were very friendly and engaging.

Before landing, we were served a Chicken and Pesto pizza twist thing. This also had some very good flavor, and was so good and portable that I requested a couple extras to take with me for my layover, and I was delightfully surprised when I was handed 5 of them to take. I would have tried a tomato and cheese one but they ran out by the time they got to my row.

Another nice flight on United in terms of food.
