Is this a good idea? Who else here has hung out in the lounge? I hear they have near-lay flat seats so you can nap, and plenty of food and wine. I'm only in PE so I can't get entry into the lounge because of the flight.
I find the FL at ORD to be a very nice step up from the AC. I’ve only ever been it in the morning, after arriving from HND on JL, so I can’t you what it will be like in the evening. I found it less crowded and more relaxing than the FL at LAX, but more crowded than the FL at DFW. YMMV.

I think the food in the FL will on par with, or better than, the PE food on your flight. You may want to eat in the FL before your flight, and then tell the FA on board that you are skipping dinner and try to fall asleep so you can hit the ground running in the morning. You’ll probably have more varied options in the FL than you likely will onboard in PE. It all depends on whether lounge sushi or charcuterie, or the hot items the lounge has, is preferable to what is on board.
