Issue is for your traveling companion to be eligible for GUC, you're supposed to be flying with them on the same flight. You try splitting the record first and then call later about making a change to your ticket and see if the agent notices the associated GUC on the other ticket. There is a danger that after your flight change is reticketed that somebody could notice the other pax is now on different days and downgrade them.
Tix.were already separate PNRs...used miles out of each passenger account. Understand the risk and that is why I am asking if anyone has done this recently and their results
