I need to head back to HKG from PDX , through SFO, and see plenty of business class seats. I would not be able to pay $7K for it, so i can do money plus miles which is still $$$ like 4K plus 400K miles, with the plus points, they only have plus points with waitlisted.
I'm trying to leave this thur (8/29), is it risky to wait till last minute? or i can just use my miles, i have a ton, but 500K miles is still quite a lot. Maybe book the award ticket with miles and if something comes up (cash upgrade, or plus points then cancel?)

what are your suggestions? I haven't need to play this game in years , since the GPU days!
