Being home based in the EU, when my employer would not pay for my travel to the UK office (tight-fisted management), I would choose the cheapest option (LLC) available and travel during working hours (would add this as travel time on my timesheet). If a morning flight was available, I would take it and would go from the airport to the office. On the return flight, I would book a flight that meant I had to leave the office early to get to the airport. If you are not paying for your staff's travel, then you lose your staff's time in the office.
Following a change of management/merger, corporate travel was covered and I would fly Sunday evenings to be ready for Monday. If a full week was required, would fly back Friday early evening. If less than a week is needed, early morning flight.
So my attitude to business travel depends on the company's travel policy: cover my costs and I will ensure you have as much of my time in the office as possible, if you are cheap/tight-fisted you lose as much of my office time as possible for the "inconvenience"
