I never worry about using my Accor points before they're devalued. I can wait until I know I'm going to reach whatever points target I'm aiming for in a particular year and/or use them for stays at budget hotels where I'd only earn at half the normal rate.
I end up doing the opposite, but also because the points are always worth the same. There is no saving them for a special redemption, where I can get a room for less, or during a promo event where the points count for more. Rather than storing the value, I just redeem everything I have on every stay.
