Totally unrelated, but I think my first ever long haul flight was on a Varig DC10. I can't be sure as it was in December 2000, LHR-GRU. The cathedral choir I sang it at university was flown out to Brazil for a two week tour just before Christmas. It was an amazing experience.
My first ever widebody flight was on a Varig DC10 in September 1978. I was only about five at the time, so it left a big impression. In fact it was only my fourth ever flight.
My Dad kept a log of my flights, but unfortunately he didn't log the registrations.
Which was a pity, because there will have been aircraft like the 721, 722, 732, 741, 742, B-1-11, DC-9, L-1011 and even a couple of Viscount.
All told I think I did ten flights on a Varig DC-10.
