If you're going to do that, any other period of time you can split them into 1 night stays and get a welcome points bonus for each stay, so you could (depending on property) basically match the promotion with a scheme like that. Seems like a pain though for getting a few extra points either for the current "offer" or maximizing points on the stays. Further indication this perhaps isnt the strongest promotion Marriott comes out with.
