It actually felt fine, but after 30 seconds I got back out so as not to bemuse any passing steward.
On my flight the galley only had action during the meal, but after a few rounds of drinks there was no cabin crew there at all until breakfast. There was water and cups for anyone to help themselves, but it was generally an area devoid of any activity or noise (maybe all the attention switches to the front galley while some crew take a nap?).
What went on in the rear galley on your flight? Was it passengers congregating and chatting there or was flight crew hustling around and preparing something?
9L has also very good advantage of acquired prized pillows as they are stored overhead. Overall seat is probably the best. If light sleeper, then maybe 3/4 rows are better.

The sound of power can be disturbing, as revolutions are quite high while torque is still way below MNm.
