I ordered the Taiwanese noodle soup set, which was delicious. I managed to get the noodle before hitting some turbulence.
The flight was quite choppy throughout the night. Like most airlines, Starlux ceases hot beverage service during turbulence.
WiFi is free for first and business class, but simply did not work during most of the flights. Panasonic On-Air is undoubtedly a terrible system especially given Starlux’s ambitious goal in providing free unlimited internet for both first and business class passengers. They need to change their vendors immediately and hope that their new Airbus A350-1000s will come with one of the better Internet vendors out there.
Error message on repeat
I watched some Air Crash investigation episodes on my laptop and strangely breakfast started really early. I wondered if there was anything special happening, but there was no additional inaugural celebration onboard after breakfast. I still did not understand why breakfast started three hours prior to landing, despite the whole service took only an hour. Even duty-free service did not take long to complete after breakfast service.
Hot towel and the same cold-pressed juice served before takeoff made their appearance

Seasonal Fresh Fruit
I chose the Western/International set, which was really nice. I like the yogurt service with F/As showing you all the toppings before pouring into your yogurt. The multigrain croissant was nice. I like the fresh salad starter but the salmon omelet was a bit odd though. A fruit plate was served after the meal was completed.
Ryan patrolled the cabin after the breakfast service was completed, and replenished coffee and tea. They really started the service too early. They need to push back the service at least an hour later in business class.
Descent soon began at 3:31pm Seattle local time and I got really irritated that they did not unlock the window dimmer even after the seat belt sign was turned on. I used my call button and reminded the F/A to undim the windows. I absolutely hate these dimmers. I want the traditional window shades so I have full control.
A bit overcast over Seattle this afternoon and we landed on R/W16R at 4:01pm and got a water canon salute before taxiing into gate S12.
It was a nice end to a special flight. I wanted to add that the new immigration/custom experience at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport was wonderful. The walk over the Sky Bridge was nice and I love the views.
The new immigration and custom hall were bright and airy, and most importantly, very spacious. In Sea-Tac now, you have to claim your bags first before passing immigration and custom. That seems to be the new trend at major American cities now. With Global Entry, it took me literally a minute to clear immigration. The whole arrival experience was nothing compared to the past, when we have to walk through that dark corridor and sad immigration and custom hall at South Satellite, not to mention that dragging your bags to take the train to the main terminal. Did some of you remember that you used to have to drop off your baggage at a baggage belt after going through customs, and then picking them up again at a baggage claim in the main terminal? This new arrival experience was just wonderful and made Seattle a more attractive connection hub compared to LA. Starlux can really try to develop a closer relationship with Alaska Airlines, and I can easily see Taiwanese passengers connecting to Alaska’s massive network to major cities along the West Coast, along with the Mountain States, Midwest and Texas. Taiwanese passengers can easily connect to popular Texan cities of Dallas and Houston now using Seattle. The 8pm departure bank made more sense now.
