I always like the bottled water gesture in first class. They are good to have throughout the flight and I am glad that your US flight experience is not too bad, despite the dinner sounds horrible. It sort of makes you miss the old days of glamourous transcontinental flight. But I guess unless you fly AA or UA, you pretty much get a very average premium class experience.
