Unsure if it was just the crew but on my IAD-SEA-IAD trip this week they came around with the beverage cart three times during the flight...I don't remember the last time there were three separate beverage services in Y on a transcon flight.

In my experience the "cocktail" service before dinner with the snack mix is a hit or miss on eastbound TATL overnight flights. Flights departing after 10pm or so usually have a combined dinner/beverage service to get the lights off asap, but the pre-dinner beverage service sometimes occurs on earlier flights.

This is actually one of the things that I think UA performs exceptionally well on. For as long as I can remember UA FAs have always walked through the Y cabin with trays of water periodically on both transcon and midcon flights.
