Right, and the same concept generally applies on AC. If you're flying YOW-YUL in Y (on a single-cabin aircraft), followed by YUL-CPH in J, you should have MLL access in YOW.
The one-time passes are much more restrictive than the other means of entry, because they're handed out like candy.
If you were flying UA SFO-DEN in J, or you were flying UA SFO-DEN in Y as UA*G, you'd have MLL access in SFO.
