For Me it usually works automatically. I call the exec platinum number and when I have the record locator with my gold number in it I get a waiting time of a few minutes. Without the locator the waiting time was around an hour. That tells you if it works.
Interesting. As a BA GGL I’ve had to call AA twice to update existing bookings and both times I was surprised how quickly they answered. Maybe I got lucky but in future will call the EXP line.
