I tried to do the following as individual flights but it didn’t like it, whereas ITA would let me book it with AA:

Perhaps the missing LAS-LAX is causing a stink. I wanted to rent a car, you see, and drive between the 2, but perhaps I’ll try with the missing leg and see if that works. It could also be something else I’m doing wrong!
I just tried:
DUB-JFK (day 1)
JFK-LAX (day 1)
LAX-LAS (day 2)
LAX-JFK (day 6)
JFK-DUB (day 6)
Added a hotel for day 2 - 6 as a test and got this:
It even seems to have picked business all the way, but this particular search isn't cheap.
