Stop 15. The BA Concorde Room

As I was approaching the checkin desk for the lounge a gentleman cut me off and was quizzing the attendant as to why it was called Concorde

She didn’t know, and curious myself, a quick google stated that it was because ‘Concorde’ means agreement in French, sometimes the simple and obvious answers are the right ones.

The CCR is open 05:00 to 22:30 today. Closing time do vary however 5am opening is standard across all BA lounges.

The lounge is reasonably busy but there are some unoccupied areas that I could photograph

Once you are in the lounge the bulk of the space opens out to the right, and to the left there are the washrooms and cabanas. Against the wall are two display units of memorabilia

Generally I will choose to sit out on the gallery/mezzanine, I like the fact that it is bright and spacious, and has a view of the airfield. There is a large table in the center of the space that is set for afternoon tea

To the best of my knowledge this is the only time there is self serve and free pour in the CCR

standard, if rather upmarket, start to a travel day
