Also weird they turned round rather than continuing to LCA as planned and evaluating the situation.. I thought the whole point of a stop at LCA was to allow crew change and safe passage including waiting for any clearances before continuing to TLV. and if not refueling and returning to LHR. So the whole LCA thing has been a nonsense all this time?
Why is it weird, seems perfectly sensible to me. Clearly at point of departure everything was normal, at some stage during the flight Israel and Hezbollah started lobbing missiles at each other. Why continue to LCA and burn a total of 4 hours+ more fuel and strand passengers who wanted to fly London-Tel Aviv in Larnaca?
