I don't know Korean Air well, but would they consider moving from Sky Team to Star Alliance? Or are the people at Asiana trying to make the case to stay in Star Alliance?
Believe it was just a Star Alliance initiative that gets sent out to other member airlines as well. It was not initiated by OZ and what was asked was just from a template.
