Thanks for the reply, and good point - probably wasn’t clear enough in my post!

In essence though I’m basically looking at a trip from LON > JFK next year around June/July and wanted to know if there’s generally a best way to ensure I’m getting the most for my points. It’ll be a surprise trip for my partner’s birthday and love to fly in upper class with as few points and cash as possible. At the moment I’m getting quoted 210,000 points plus £2,000 for both of us for the return trip but having no experience with using points, is that normal? Is there a better way to use the points and/or voucher etc?
