I don't know Korean Air well, but would they consider moving from Sky Team to Star Alliance? Or are the people at Asiana trying to make the case to stay in Star Alliance?
There could be many other reasons to want such information. For example, maybe they'll use it to negotiate better terms with Delta saying that they'll now bring more customers to the business.
Or they may be using the data to forecast how many customers they'll lose.
I didn't get any such surveys after my last few UA and NH flights.
