For KE to switch to Star Alliance, they'd almost certainly need to dissolve their JV with Delta (something I was hoping would be a required concession for the OZ merger), and Star Alliance would need to welcome them. I have a feeling ANA (at a minimum) would push back against that.

Being king of Skyteam in Asia seems to be working out pretty well for them anyway.
