Update - I did one more test, the available seat map view on 11/13, looks nothing like the actual seats available during purchase process. So AA's available seat map view (view only) is not accurate at all, it's using random availability maps to show possible seat options.

The takeaway here is one must actually go through the purchase process to see what the actual seat map looks like.
Another takeaway is that expertflyer seems to be wrong in seat availability as well (at least on 11/14), based on what has been posted.

EDIT: facepalm - experflyer is correct (I was interpreting the seats wrong - white is available, blue is taken, opposite of AA's color codes lol)
