Thank you.
To be sure, I tested booking a new flight on this itinerary on 11/14, and sure enough, in the booking process, the available seat maps match my assigned seat map.
So it seems AA website has a glitch showing the 11/14 real seat map on 11/15 pre-purchase view. I assume it's showing a different day (maybe 11/13?) seat map for the 11/14 pre-purchase seat map.
Given this test, it appears that expertflyer is wrong, since I am not able to buy the seats that experflyer says is available, directly on AA website.
I'm curious, if expertflyer had been correct, what is the best course of action to follow up with AA to remedy the incorrect seat assignments? AA elite customer service won't see the expertflyer view in this case, as they only see the assigned seat view.

Also, what the agent told you makes no sense at all. There clearly is a glitch where seat view is showing you the wrong flight. But normally I would expect it to be entirely accurate.
Yup, great minds think alike. Just to be clear, when trying to buy and select a seat on 11/14, AA shows the actual assigned seat view from my purchased view, which matches the 11/15 view only display, not the 11/14 view only display.
