Agreed.
However, about 6 years ago I had difficulty booking Doha-Muscat flights because the Qatar website woukd not accept my Canadian Mastercard. The Qatar help desk was useless, so I booked with expedia.ca and had no issues with flights or payments.
Eventually, after 6+ months the Qatar Airways site sorted itself and would accept my Canadian credit card.
