Can only echo what above posters have said, notably about the moldy smell when entering the room.
Had to wait at reception for good 20 minutes before being able to check in. Service here was really nice for a Novotel, the desk clerk was well aware of the benefits and proactively offered to extend my checkout until 4pm. The lounge staff was also super friendly and remembered you throughout the stay.
Restaurant and bar are currently being renovated, as a result of which breakfast was served in the conference facility and was passable — nothing great for sure. In lieu of restaurant, they offered 35% discount in the adjacent AKI Mgallery’s F&B outlets. I didn’t try it out but AKI Mgallery looks like a good option to try out.
Lounge offerings are very poor; a couple of nibbles for ”afternoon tea” and for ”evening cocktails”, although there’s a good variety of booze and I realize this is a Novotel. The lounge is still not worth booking.
The hotel is very conveniently located in Wan Chai for a lot of stuff and was nicely priced during my stay so if you don’t mind the mold, it can be worth it.
