Well this can be highly subjective. It really depends on one's travel pattern and size of wallet. On the facts side Accor is the the world's 7th largest hotel group with nearly 40! brands spanning everything from low cost to ultra luxury with some truly amazing hotels but also plenty middling properties. Its regional spread is somewhat uneven: strong in Europe (but not every country), very strong in Asia Pacific, sizeable presence in Africa and Latin America, extremely limited in North America.

The loyalty programme is fairly straightforward based on spend (or nights). Redemptions are easy due to their monetary value. No blackout dates or obscure points inflation. Loyalty perks (suite and general upgrades, early and late check in or out) are reasonable (starting at Platinum really) but receiving them at hotels can be sometimes a struggle (but that's not so different elsewhere). Real downside is that Platinum does not get free breakfast everywhere. Stingy. If you are into lounges you are not well served with Accor (only really in APAC) or Fairmont but those are not accessible for loyalty members. No lifetime status is also a negative. A positive for me is that Accor has not sold everything to the credit card demons unlike US hotel groups thus diluting the experience even further. Some of the pay add-ons (especially Accor Plus in Asia Pacific) can offer great value.
