Stop 3 Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge

The Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge is Lounge C at Heathrow Terminal 3. The lounge opens at 05:30 and closes at 21:00 or until the last Cathay Pacific flight of the day has departed, whichever is earlier.

Entrance to the lounge is via the two lifts in this very unwelcoming vestibule, a sharp contrast to the lounges above!

A word of caution, in the afternoon access to the lounges can be restricted to Cathay Pacific passengers only to prevent overcrowding, and so the best time to visit this lounge is in the morning.

Once checked in at reception, there is a long corridor leading to the restrooms, Business Class lounge, and showers. The Cathay lounges offer the best showers in terminal 3.

The entrance to the First Class lounge is on the right at the start of this long corridor.

The lounge is decorated in what I would best describe as English Gentleman’s Club style with an Asian influence. This is the most elegant of all of the Heathrow T3 lounges. It is a very calm and relaxing space with soft jazz playing in the background and, right now, lightly populated.

The lounge features a Pantry for light bites. The quality of the food in the pantry is excellent.

For more substantial fare there is an at-seat dining area. It is currently fully occupied and serving breakfast.

I will try to come back later before they lock down and get a look at the lunch menu.

The is a self service bar and to my recollection this is the only bar to have free-pour port available. It is also the only lounge to offer a choice of champagnes with the Laurent Perrier and the Joseph Perrier

I absolutely adore the olives that they offer here, they are heavy on the chilli and garlic and incredibly tasty as a result, but, even for me, it’s too early, maybe later. Instead, it is coffee number 6, fizz number 3, and a couple of small bites. I’ve tried the Malaysian chicken puffs before and they’re excellent, and the Pastel de Nata was one of the best I’ve ever had.

The lounge offers what I would describe as limited views out to the airfield.

And lastly, there is a newspaper and magazine rack in the corner next to the bar and sit down dining
