My experience was also good, and I also got the suite upgrade. The washer/dryer was definitely helpful given the weather this time of year. I didn't make it to the rooftop bar either, but it seemed to be a popular venue.
The breakfast spread was fairly good, but there were some deficiencies some days. For instance, certain dishes would run out and not be replaced for awhile, if at all. The coffee was from the automatic espresso machines. I don't know if it was that the temperature was too high or if it was due to the roast, but the espresso beverages were quite bitter. The overall selection was expansive and what you'd expect of a European hotel breakfast.
I agree that the location shouldn't be a concern. Uber is cheap and readily available. (The return to the airport was only €13!) I made use of the tram, which has a stop right outside of the hotel. Most of the sights in Belem were within a 15-minute walk of the hotel.
