Something is definitely up with AA tech right now. Mercury is in retrograde, for the record, LOL.

Two issues in the last day:
1. Trying to change my flight home from New York next week from JFK-PHX-RNO to LGA-DFW-RNO. The app routinely shows +$100. Great! I go to book it and I get the "Something went wrong" message. Try again and the price skyrockets up to +$2,200. I've gone through this cycle 3-4 times with the same outcome.
2. Trying to change routing next month on an award ticket from LHR-RDU-CLT-SMF to LHR-ORD-LAX. The website shows available for 69k miles. I call in to the EP desk, it kicks it back. I'm following along on aa.com and all flights skyrocket to over 100k. Tried an alternative route LHR-ORD-SFO. Same thing.

I'm just glad I didn't cancel my current booking and try to rebook on my own as I'd be SOL. I'm used to phantom availability with partner awards but these flights are all on AA metal. Does their algorithm see by the clicks that there's interest and deploy the dynamic pricing machine or what?
