I have to admit I gave up with the ending in Madrid, and just booked via BA holidays DUB-LHR-JFK-SFO then LAX-JFK-LHR-DUB on the return. Was just under €2k pp.
I've heard that at Dublin we can do a sort of pre-immigration for the US to save time in JFK, is there a thread about that somewhere?
