I guess I have not been paying close enough attention but BE tickets now require payment for ANY seat in advance. It states it on the fare restriction but this really feels like a bait and switch. They post a fare and then start tacking on fees like everybody else. Minimum additional fee was $10 on the first leg and $20 on the second. Still slightly cheaper than the Main fare even after paying for a bag, just sticks in my craw.
FYI, this was for my daughter w/ no status, just booked it through my account.
Is this actually a change?
And if "everybody else" charges a fee for advance seat selection, checked baggage, etc., on a Basic Economy fare, how exactly is this a "bait and switch" when AA does it?
