Decided to check in on my CTA case from last July related to this 24-hour delay. When I submitted the case, I received a confirmation with this message:

We continue to receive a high number of cases. There are more than 46,000 cases waiting to be reviewed. The wait time between when you submitted your case and when it is reviewed can be more than 18 months. We continue to improve our review process to reduce wait times. We assure you that the wait time will not affect the outcome of your case. Please do not resubmit the same complaint.
Now?

The CTA continues to receive a high number of air travel complaints and has been implementing technical updates to our system to improve efficiencies to reduce wait times. As a result, the case status count down is unavailable at this time. Rest assured the case number you have been assigned is still in the queue. The wait time between when you submitted your case and when it is reviewed can be more than 18 months.
