Good news from Amsterdam,
here we are in 2024 when renovations would start in 2023.......
after again a delay, IC AMS is starting its renovations phase.

1st stage is back of the house at level B1

Kitchens, storage, F&B concept, execution and support: the south wing facing Toronto bridge.

It seems IC AMS has already figured out the plans of their new competition: Rosewood Amsterdam
and has had enough time observing the their direct competition of Hotel27, Sofitel Le Grand and Waldorf Astoria,
and has seen the success of their collegue in arns : Okura
So the strategy is to return F&B back to gastromic levels aka worthwhile destination dining,
but still maintaining to welcoming locals.

It is interesting that the new strategy will be headed by someone with experience coming from Four Seasons Ko Olina Hawaii USA.
That hotel has a fancy Italian, an excellent Micheal Mina's fish house and a coffeeshop.

Although steep in $, FS Ko Olina F&B: ambiance & service is welcoming without snobism and food & drinks well executed in taste and portions.
Actually the same concepts could well befitting IC AMS ..... IC AMS software is strong, now only the hardware needs to be spruced up.

It is still working but does sonetimes have a mind of its own

I'll be this September at IC AMS after i come back from IC Malta so i'll keep everyone up to date.
However be prepared *hint* that as room renovations start,
- award availability + upgrade % chance will be less
- breakfast is moved to a meeting room
- impact of sight, sound, smells, noise: other discomfort possibilities
- outcome renegotions with IHG

Still recovering from the druids'ceremony .... home made kombucha is almost as enticing as doing the shrooms......wish they were shitaki-type.
