Sthala is 2hrs from DPS on a good day. Cicada is an easy 3-4hrs.
I'd definitely plan a positioning stay at one of the other Ubud properties first.
If coming from a non-Ubud hotel directly, I'd say from Canggu (obviously off-brand) or maybe the Aloft in Batubelig is ok. Wouldn't do it from Seminyak or Sanur.
