It must be that they don't want to come back all the way out there for a single pax, which is a shame. In that case, arrange with STR to be able to stay at their airport lounge until closer to the departure time.
I stayed in the OWV but I totally get the value proposition of the garden villa, especially if you have young kids. The safety for toddlers is better with the garden villa and the access to the beach is kinda nice. Anyhow, if its just adults and older kids 100% OWV.
