VT (via Nexus) was a great help on our recent trip (3 of 4 segments).
Wondering if there's a guide/wiki that helps travellers like me navigate new/unfamiliar airports to access VT benefits?
If not, I'd be willing to crowdsource/collect/compile such info into a guide here for FT...maybe append it to the guide at the top of this thread...if
Adam Smith is ok with that.
Mockup, from my recent travels:
YVR-Vancouver International Airport
to Domestic:
Follow signage to "Security Point 3" on "Level 4-Train to City". Offers "VT experience".
...or...
Follow signage to "ABC-Canada" on "Departures Level 3". Offers "VT-FOL".
to Transborder:
?? (CATSA lists "Vancouver International Airport - E-United States - pilot" but no idea what that means)
to International:
?? (can you get to an International gate/flight from Security Point 3)
...or...
Follow signage to "D-International on "Departures Level 3". Offers "VT-FOL". (Would prefer to hear from travellers who have actually accessed those benefits...I did not here at YVR.)
YOW-Ottawa/McDonald-Cartier International Airport
to Domestic/International: Single checkpoint offers VT-Screening 4-8am and 2:30-6:30pm, and VT-FoL 8am-2:30pm and 6:30pm-11pm.
to Transborder to USA: no benefit
Assumptions:
1. Total of 16 airports as listed on the CATSA website...so 48 permutations when factoring domestic/transborder/international.
2. VT is only available when first coming airside (i.e. after check-in), as there is no mention for connections. (Please comment with your experience.)
Can also include the differences between VT, VT-Transborder and VT-FoL experiences (as a copy/paste from CATSA with link).
Thoughts?
