I like to normally get 2 cents per point for Amex MR redemptions, so, at one cent per point, 7 Hilton points would be close to 4 X MR points. However, it's hard to reliably redeem HH points at 1 cent, normally they are worth less.
Truthfully, until you posted your reply, I forgot that MR points could be redeemed 1:2 for Hilton Honors. I was thinking it was 1:1. And, of course, Amex will occasionally offer promos where they can be exchanged for higher rates.

I too am skeptical, so this entire conversation may be moot. When I checked Amex's website earlier today, I didn't see any news on the updated multipliers. Hopefully we'll have confirmation either way in the next few days.
