That’s a good outcome from Expedia, they were under no obligation to do that, but have made a real customer service gesture.
It’s also a good outcome that BA were able to make the change so efficiently, but I imagine you used of the new BA Amex companion vouchers? If so, they simply made a change you should have been entitled to make anyway, since the voucher can either be used as a 2-4-1 if travelling with a companion, or to reduce the avios cost by 50% if travelling solo.
