Hope all is well and you're all looking forward to the bank holiday!

Just a quick question, I have had my fair share of upgrades from BA to CW and First but most of them were flights back to London.

Today, before checking in online for my flight to IAD (flight is still operated by the A380), I noticed that my seat number has changed and thought it might have been an aircraft swap but I have been upgraded and obviously I am not complaining!

Does BA upgrade passengers before check in too? Almost all my upgrades with BA had been after checking in online or at the gate.
