I think this actually is GOOD for competition. It opens up Hawaiian to non stop flights from any number of North American cities where Alaska alreadty has a station and staff. Those flights from say, a Kansas City to Honolulu, will now open up the interisland flights as feeders to their ultimate destination. I am not suggesting that a Kansas City be served every single day, but maybe a couple times a week, and this can happen from a number of midwest and even east coast cities. This results in more passengers for the interisland flights.
