Thought I’d share an update as I read this with interest prior to my arrival on Tuesday August 13th arriving at 4:15pm. I decided to book the fast track and was glad I did.
The immigration queue snaked around and then passengers were being put in 10 different counter lines each with approx 20 passengers….Fast track passengers were put in a queue saying “Wheelchair” even though wheelchairs were in a separate queue. Anyway, it took about 20 minutes to get through and bags were already on the carousel when I went downstairs. My wife experienced similar the following day arriving at 12:45pm albeit with a few logistical issues as detailed below. For me though fast track arrival was well worth the money….
Just a couple of points to be aware of. If you are flying in Business class and arriving at a bus gate, you will have a separate bus completely separate from the other passengers. When my family arrived, the rep was not yet at the immigration hall with their name card as he presumably wasn't expecting them to arrive so quickly from the plane and they joined the huge queue. Luckily, I liaised with their admin and eventually my family found him although they treid to claim he was there all along. The way around this though is to keep in contact with the admin via whatsapp and message them when you arrive and then once you are on the bus. Also, if you are in business class emphasise this otherwise the rep will think you are in economy. I also kind of got the impression that people who knew what they were doing were also getting let into the fast track queue on arrival
Also, when leaving, I was considering purchasing the service again but baulked at the $65 they wanted per person. Double the arrival charge. I explained that we had business class tickets, and maybe this service would offer no advantage. The company were quite vague and noncommittal in their answers. So, in the end we didn’t book it. As it was, the departure was even quicker as even though the main immigration and security queues were snaking around the block, my family sailed through fast track immigration and security with business class tickets at 10pm on a Saturday evening. It was similar on Monday morning for me. In 2x arrivals at 16:00 and 12:30 and 2x departures at midnight at 09:30 the main immigration and security lines were consistently very, very long. Whether that is to do with the time of year, I’m not sure….Finally, I also saw people trying to gain fast track entry with sky priority status but the guards seemed to not understand that at all. They only wanted to see a ticket with business class on it.
