Well, we normally provide codes when it's not clear what the cause is (often the OP didn't listen to announcements), whereas here you know! If a captain says it's TECY then that's better information than anything that will appear in this thread.
I never got near the captain. But the gate agents told us. YouFirst was great for getting me rebooked, though it would have been nice if BA had let me get on the earlier flight. I'm fling out of DUB in a bit. I reckon I should go ahead and book the Sofitel on my own?
I might want to wait until BA829 starts boarding though. It's already showing late.
