No, it only works if the property has a room available for early check-in. It's a risky strategy, and I won't play that game on a redeye arrival anymore, been denied a room too many times and been forced to do the zombie walk until 4 pm (or later, depending on availability). At Andaz 5th once had to wait until nearly 6 pm for my suite.
Yeah I guess in my small sample size I’ve just been surprised by Hyatt’s actual willingness to deliver this, vs the standard Marriott reply. Of course if you’re waiting for a a suite it’s very likely not ready early in the morning.
