It's a risky strategy, and I won't play that game on a redeye arrival anymore, been denied a room too many times and been forced to do the zombie walk until 4 pm (or later, depending on availability). At Andaz 5th once had to wait until nearly 6 pm for my suite.

And really has nothing to do with Hyatt vs. Marriott. It's not guaranteed with either (except Your24 for AMB) and I've had equal success/bad luck scoring an early morning check-in with both programs.
