13 hour layover at KUL, leaving airport for 1/2 day without checked luggage?
Can I leave KUL airport without picking up my check-in luggage for a 13 hour connection? I am flying TPE-KUL-DOH

When I Googled this, this is what I got as an answer:

"Can I leave the airport during a layover if I checked a bag?
If you're leaving the airport on a stopover, you will have to bring all your luggage, including checked bags, with you. When you return to the airport for the final leg of your trip, you'll need to start the check-in process all over again.Feb 8, 2024"

So it looks like I have to pick up all of my luggage if I really want to leave the airport and then have to check it in again. I would much rather not do this because it will save time and I can sleep more at the hotel I booked.

Can someone confirm this rule? I have left Dubai airport before and no issues, but appears every country has it's own policies on this.
