I just realised this as well.
If you have AY account, and you add your flight it keeps overwriting your BA number... loosing the OW benefits which you have with BA.
Also now I remember that KLM did the same with my VS number...
So , lesson learnt not to add the flight under your profile if you wanna use other's membership number and benefits.
