Polaris passengers will be able to use United Clubs at ORD and be eligible for complimentary premium beverage offerings as well.
The conciliatory complimentary premium beverage offer during the closure is interesting, considering DEN has no Polaris lounge, and when I enquired about chits for premium drinks the club manager told me to pound sand (he was none too pleasant to talk to). Just like United to be so uniformly non-uniform.

Would the ORD Polaris closure be a valid reason to change to another connection city without a change fee. (Keep in mind that many change fees still exist for flights not originating in the US, including my ticket).
Would love insights before I call UA.
Unlike hoping for a glitches that result in access to Polaris lounges, I think this has a slim shot at working. I've certainly had some agents that would let me changes flights due to aircraft swaps. Or, you may luck out with a schedule change that permits you to make a change. Just don't opt to route through Denver, or you'll find yourself in a United Club - without so much as a complimentary drink chit to drown your sorrows.
