One AC agent told me that in their system, the flight is showing as booked with Latitude fare and checked bag should be free.
However a couple of other agents told me that it may be showing as Latitude on their sode but as it is an award ticket and was booked with United, I will have to pay for the checked bag.

You should operate under the assumption that it will be treated as Standard.

They have definitely fixed most of those "issues" (i.e. it was definitely never their intention).
My experience flying on this* last month was that everyone I encounterd (call centre, check in, onboard the plane) did think it was Latitude but with zero checked bags included (so Standard for that part at least). Not sure what it would say on the manifest to give the cabin crew the understanding that it was Latitude...
*I have to check if the ticket was actually the exact same fare class and basis, but it was a UA redemption in X (side note, I had no idea Mileageplus saver awards on AC Y can book into L now, which also appears to be cheaper than X...)
