Just went to check in on the app for ZRH ORD tomorrow and got a notice that "airport check in required."
My buddy on same PNR (first time overseas), was able to get PDF of boarding pass. He is travel ready and has PRE.
Me (1K, 10+ international trips in last 18 months, Global Entry...nothing has changed or expired...everything flowed like normal from my UA profile) it said "you are checked in but need to get your BP at airport."
I assume this is SSSS?
Only thought I had was my VPN on my phone was active when I checked in (didn't realize that). If I call 1K to uncheck me in and then I recheck in...could that help? I figure probably not, but worth asking here.
Thanks all!

Then head to the gate area a bit earlier than normal (from the lounge I assume) so they can process as normal. With SSSS it's sometimes easier to check all your bags so they don't have to rummage through those as well during the process.

My only revision to the above would be don't bother to arrive at the gate until perhaps 25 minutes before departure (10 minutes to flight close). In my experience, this makes for a very speedy and noninvasive SSSS check. Do go find a staff person as soon as you arrive at the gate, rather than queueing (if there happens to be a queue still) and waiting until you get to the BP scanner.
