However, I'd caution against referring to her too often as your "Silver wife". And more seriously, she would obviously have to be able to answer the necessary security questions truthfully.

You can check your own bags for a flight without everyone else in the booking being present. I don’t know where this daft idea is coming from that everyone has to be there for you to check your own bags within your own allowance - USA bound or not.
